Lyle Thornton, recognized for her eight years service on the Gladney Board, her personal
achievements and contributions within our community. A special donation was made to
Powerful Purses in honor of Lyle Thornton.
Gail S. Ayers, Ph.D., nominated by Barbara A. Fife and Cynthia R. Bailey to receive recognition
as an honoree in the NU Distinguished Woman Program. Dr. Fegan met with Fife and
Bailey throughout the year long selection process for providing additional data requested
by NU approval committee members. The results concluded on October 20, 2012 at the NU
Celebration Gala in Dallas, Texas with Dr. Gail S. Ayers being introduced as a DW
Recipient and presented the official DW necklace orginally designed by the late sculptor,
Giulio Tamassy for NU. She was introduced by Kaitlin S. Dault and applauded for her
extraordinary achievements by Dr. Pretty, Dr. Fegan. Powerful Purses was a participating
sponsor to support the nomination. Board members and
special guests attended the NU Gala and various other
events hosted by NU for its Distinguished Woman Program.
